CHERISH peace 2006 In aid of cancer research, the 'Poppies for Peace' theme was used in conjunction with that of Remembrance during the month of November. On Remembrance Sunday a series of 15 CHERISH peace bears was launched for sale from this website. Special Remembrance and Peace themed auctions were listed on eBay.

THINK PINK 2006 In aid of research into breast cancer research, this campaign lasted throughout October and comprised 4 weeks of eBay auctions of pink items and a special commemorative edition of 10 each of Aware and Awareness with sweaters knitted by Jennifer aka Pattibuddy. Accessories included CHERISH Think Pink mobile phone charms and Canadian awareness coins donated by Heather Softley and awareness cushions made by Andy Brook and Jouce Tunks. A series of 'Prisoner Pooh' Disney Beanies signed by various members of the 'Bad Girls' cast was auctioned on eBay. These had been donated and the signings arranged by Kelly Prout.

The first 10 people to purchase Smitten were also given the chance to buy a CHERISH Race for Life 2006 Supporter Bear (Aware).

CHERISH Sports Auctions 2006 A series of auctions was held on eBay for various items relating to sports, including bears signed by England cricketer Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff, Olympic athlete Kriss Akabusi and Sheffield United director Sean Bean.

CHERISH Cup 2006 A mini World Cup Championship was held after all 48 World Cup Bears had been sold (12 from each of 4 teams: France, England, Germany and Italy). Each bear wore a CHERISH football shirt printed with their team flag, name and player number and CHERISH Cup 2006 ear tag and came packaged with a mini football, a football/flag printed pennant and kit bag, commemorative card and magnet and a Bobby Moore fund pin badge. The winning team of the Final each won a matching bean bag seat and an engraved marble plaque. The team captain won a miniature replica World Cup. Every player won at least one prize.

CHERISH Kernow On May 1st 2006 (Obby Oss Day in Padstow, Cornwall) Ty released the first UK county exclusive bear: Kernow, exclusive to Cornwall. CHERISH sold some specially accessoried Kernow Beanies in display cases with Kernow Passports, Joan the Wad lucky Cornish piskeys, Cornish tartan riboon, information leaflets and magnets. Some lucky people were able to buy bears signed by their designer, Morley Lester (a Ty UK territory representative).

CHERISH Global Breakfast 2006 This year's theme was 'Coffee, Bagels and Donuts To Go' and featured an edition of 50 Curly Beanies sold with related accessories made by Jennifer, 10 Curls Beanies dressed by Nancy, 5 special Pink Donut Curly Beanies and special one of a kind bears and other items sold on eBay.
Website visitors were asked to contribute breakfast photographs and to sign a Guest Book and there were puzzles and games to play on the site.
A staff breakfast was held at Cressex School, High Wycombe.

CHERISH Hearts and Flowers 2006 In aid of cancer research with some of the proceeds specifically designated for children's cancers, this campaign was held during February to coincide with Valentine's Day as well as International Childhood Cancer Day on 15th February. A series of 50 Corsage Bears with a deluxe edition of 10 Corsage Bears was sold through the website and eBay, along with a few other Hearts and Flowers themed auctions.

CHERISH Guardian Angel 2005 In aid of research into children's cancers, this theme ran through December and included a special edition of 50 each of Halo and Blessed bears sold with beaded angels and other extras. A draw was held with mystery prize packages of collectables to be won by 5 people.
10 Star Beanies with accessories were sold in aid of Cancer Research UK and also for the UK based charity 'When You Wish Upon a Star'.

Kicking Out at Men's Cancers Three more special items were sold through eBay for Charity on the theme of ball sports: Chelsea striker Eidur Gudjohnnson's football boots, a new Chelsea training suit and Ty Leonard, the Classic lion released as exclusive to the Rugby Store, Twickenham, UK.

DEC ASIA QUAKE APPEAL

This earthquake wiped out entire villages and at least 50,000 people are feared dead, with many more injured and without shelter.  Pakistan was worst hit, but parts of India and Afghanistan were also affected.
A bronze Decade bear with sweater and chair was auctioned, raising £50 for the DEC Asia Quake Appeal.

HURRICANE KATRINA
After the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina in the USA, CHERISH held a silent auction to raise funds in aid of the American Red Cross.
A sweater made for the 'Summer Memories' collection was auctioned, raising £125.50.
Two 'I Love NY' Beanies were customised into 'Ice Cream Break' sets on the theme of Statue of Liberty guides by Beanie Tenjishitsu of Japan. These were also sold by silent auction, for £65 and £52 respectively.

CHERISH peace A forerunner to a future promotion in aid of Cancer Research UK, this was launched ahead of time in response to the 7th July London Bombings, to raise funds in aid of the London Bombings Relief Charitable Fund (Registered Charity number 1110400), set up by the Mayor of London. The money raised by this charity will be used to assist the victims of the attacks, their families and dependants and to support any other projects that its Trustees consider appropriate.
7 auctions were listed on eBay for Peace-related items: 4 from UK and 3 from Japan (these donated by the webmasters of Beanie Tenjishitsu).

CHERISH Race for Life 2005 A special edition of 50 Lilac Sherbet Bears was sold to raise sponsorship for this event. Each bear was sold with a 2005 medal, a Cancer Research UK headband (wristband), a running number on her back, commemorative card and magnet. All 50 names were entered into a draw to win a Beanie sweater. A further edition of 10 Lilac Sherbet Bears was sold through the website and eBay. These had several extras - charm bracelet, embroidered towel and gym bag, etc. A small quantity of different beanie towels was donated and sold as an extra package. I also received sponsorship through my place of work and via Justgiving.

Kicking Out at Men's Cancers A series of auctions, all with a sporting theme, was held during the month of June (Men's Cancer Awareness Month). Every item sold had a stress football and Blue Boy pin badge as well as a CHERISH Kicking Out at Men's Cancers commemorative magnet. They also had a special card, the design of which varied from week to week.

CHERISH Championship A mini World Cup Championship was held after all 32 Champion Bears had been sold. Each bear wore a CHERISH United football shirt and Tackling Testicular Cancer ear tag and came packaged with a stress football, a football/flag printed bean bag cushion, commemorative card and magnet and a a Blue Boy pin badge. The winner of the Final won a Ty trophy tied with CHERISH ribbons and the runner-up won a different trophy, also with CHERISH ribbons. All match winners won a special winners' magnet.

Cancer Research UK Bike Ride 2005 Two auctions were listed to raise sponsorship for this event - one was a Peace Jingle Beanie with tiny bike and sweater entitled 'Special Priority Male' and the other was an 'I Love Denver' package of Beanie, sweater and bag with postcards.

CHERISH May Queen Series 2005 A series of auctions in aid of research into women's cancers.
These included a series of 5 Cure Beanies dressed by April Dowling and her students in the USA, 2 bridal Beanies, Sakura II and Nipponia, dressed by Miho Yamamoto of Beanie Beauty in Japan, a special edition Joaquim Beanie from the Mitsukoshi Alcott Ty Store in Japan and 2 Mom-e 2005 Beanies presented with a selection of Cancer Awareness themed accessories.

CHERISH Global Breakfast 2005 A variety of events and activities took place in support of the
Cancer Research UK official event, 'Britain's Biggest Breakfast'.
Two special edition Breakfast Beanie Packages were launched on this website and sold through this website and on eBay. An updated CHERISH Global Breakfast Book was given, along with a special magnet to people who bought both packages.
Competitions were held on this website and prizes awarded for best answers and photographs.
Breakfast-related collectables were sold on eBay, including 'Luxury Breakfast Hampers'.

D Day & Fathers Day Auctions Two Pappa 2004 Beanies with cardigan/pullover were sold on eBay, followed by Dad e 2004 with green and bronze sweater and Beanie Rocking Chair dinated by Shaskana's Beanies. Also sold to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of D Day were three 'D DAY HERO' Beanies (UK Hero, Ronnie and Bearon) in miltary-style sweaters. A series of other auctions, mainly of celebrity-signed Beanies and other items of interest for Fathers Day gifts, was listed to raise money for Bowel Cancer Research, Research into Men's Cancers and the children's charity SPARKS.

Global Beanie Breakfast 2004 A variety of events and activities took place in support of the Cancer Research UK official event 'Britain's Biggest Breakfast'.
A special edition Breakfast Beanie Package was launched in Bean Bag & Collectables Magazine and sold through the magazine, on this website and on eBay. A decorated Breakfast Beanie contest and vote was held with the entries being sold on this website by Silent Auction. Breakfast-related collectables were sold on eBay. Competitions were held on this website and a Breakfast Book was compiled with the help of contributors, including Sir Richard Branson.

eBay auctions were started on ICCD, 15th February, 2004. The line-up included e-Beanies, international Beanies, celebrity-signed items and special collectables, many of them donated by well-wishers from all parts of the world.

NEC Spring Fair Although not the first visit to this show, it is worthy to note the great response to requests made to several companies approached at this event. Following this, donations have been received or pledged by Boyds, Steiff, Gund, Ty Europe. The author of the 'Poo Poo People' books signed and donated a set on the spot! Patricia Roche, head of Ty Europe signed Serenity Beanie, who shares a birthday with International Childhood Cancer Day. This would later be auctioned for ICCD.

This show's full name was 'Bears, Beans and Collectables Show' and was held at Chester Racecourse on 17th August 2003. Chubbley Ltd donated a large quantity of Sterling and Blush bears.
These were given an extra 'Pound for Pound' tag and sold to raise money for Cancer Research UK (Sterling) and Breast Cancer Research (Blush). There were also other fund raising events that day.
